For sale a superb table set of 14 pieces bearing the stamp of the famous manufacturers from Gien, France, Oiseaux de Paradis model

This set consists of a soup tureen, a large oval tray with 2 smaller hollow oval plates and 10 hollow and semi-hollow plates

Size of the soup tureen: height 24 cm with the lid, length 32 cm with the handles, diameter 25 cm

Dimensions of the large oval tray: length 41 cm, width 26 cm, height 4 cm

Dimensions of the 2 smaller oval dishes: length 26 cm, width 13 cm, height 3 cm 

Dimensions of the 2 large hollow and semi-hollow plates: diameter 28 cm, height 4.5 cm and 3 cm

History of Gien earthenware manufacture.
La Faïencerie de Gien was created in 1821 in Gien Val de Loire, in the heart of France.

The 19th century gave birth to numerous production sites earlier used by the ceramists of past centuries. But its two centuries history is linked to the name of the first manufacturer, the Englishman Thomas Hall. Hall moved to Gien and bought the land and the buildings of Couvent des Minimes located on the banks of the Loire.

In 2014, Yves de Talhouët took over the Manufacture de Gien.

Two passionate men inspired by the exceptional heritage, the excellence of know-how and the fame of Faïencerie de Gien, decide to carry on the tradition and explore new ways adding value to contemporary creations and setting up a new export distribution strategy.

Today more than ever Faïencerie de Gien follows a path to excellence. Member of the prestigious Comité Colbert which brings together the major French luxury brands, it has been awarded the title of an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant.

Women and men of the Manufacture are decisively turned towards the future reinventing Fine Earthenware of tomorrow while relying on its bicentennial roots.
