Very elegant in their simplicity, these vintage earrings signed TRIFARI, made in the 1980s.
Enamel design with white and black enamels on a gold-plated structure. 
Earring width: 2.2 cm, length: approx. 4.2 cm.
Origin: United States.

Gustavo Trifari, born in Naples in 1883, came from a family of excellent goldsmiths already known in the city in the mid-19th century. In 1904 he emigrated to New York where he found a place as a jewellery designer. In 1910, he founded "Trifari & Trifari" with his uncle, a jewellery house that soon became one of the most famous in America. In 1912 his uncle left the company, which from then on was called only "Trifari". Alfred Philippe's collaboration with Trifari lasted nearly four decades, ending with his retirement in 1968.
