1st Edition copy of this authoritative study on the Assyrian cities of Nineveh. The book is well-illustrated with 68 engravings including frontispiece, 5 fold out engraving plate and plans, and wood-cut engravings in text. Published by John Murray, London, 1851. Publisher’s original half bound in olive green leather with marbled boards. Spine in five compartments with flat bands, gilt lettering pieces to compartment two.

Condition
Solid, and well-bound book. Wear to board’s corners, and edges, with rubbing and bumping to head and foot of spine. Internally; the book is in good condition. A label sticker on past down page. Some tears and missing parts of the first three fold outs; the other two fold outs are complete. Foxing, and marking spots to some pages. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at the gutter. All illustrations are present and bright (Please see pictures).
