Rough translation: The position of the earth. Andreas Cellarius (1595 - 1665) was a cosmographer from the Netherlands. At the time he lived in Hoorn he worked on a cosmographic atlas, titled 'Harmonia Macrocosmica sev Atlas Universalis et Novus, Totius Universi Creati Cosmographiam Generalem, et Novam Exhibens (rough translation: the Harmonia Macrocosmica, a new general atlas showing the overall and new cosmography of the universe).
The first print was published in 1660 by Janssonius. The atlas contains 29 large and coloured prints on which the history and development of the astronomy are shown, with an added description in Latin. Because of these large coloured prints the atlas is a very decorative work. According to van Gent, Cellarius' biographer, the atlas by Cellarius is one of the most beautiful celestial atlases ever printed.
