The Sunset is a mesmerizing new carpet and custom designed by Alfhild Külper for Transnatural.
Originally born in Sweden, artist and designer Alfhild Külper is currently based in Amsterdam. She studied at Central Saint Martins University of the Arts London. Having spent the last 10 years as a fashion designer for Dutch Maison Viktor & Rolf, she has turned her practice from dressing the body towards dressing our living spaces a few years ago. Alfhild Külper is now creating artistic, emotionally loaded, soft shaped textile artworks and carpets.
For the production of these carpets, we closely collaborate with an Indian family company, who’s embedded in the traditional craftsmanship of tapestry making in India. The landscapes are hand crafted with soft, natural, sustainable fibers using a mix of traditional tufting techniques with 3D embroidery. The carpet is directly shipped from India to clients to reduce the transport movements (reason the transport cost might be higher than expected, ). The final bid will be excluding import costs, which are for the buyer and will be added to the buyers price when importing the goods to the final destination, so be aware.
