STATEMENT:

Dit abstracte schilderij, gemaakt in 2026, onderzoekt de spanning tussen beweging en stilstand in het hedendaagse leven. Door te werken met gelaagde acrylic gebaren legt Alessandro Criscito energetische handelingen vast en bevriest ze op het doek, waarmee beweging wordt omgezet in een ruimte voor contemplatie. Het resultaat is een oppervlak waar intensiteit en stilte naast elkaar bestaan, en de kijker uitgenodigd wordt om gas terug te nemen en aanwezig te zijn in het moment. In een wereld die draait op snelheid en overprikkeling, doet mijn werk een bewuste daad voor: stoppen, beweging erkennen en van daaruit in het stilzitten gaan. In plaats van representatie probeert mijn schilderij een ervaring te creëren — een kans om terug te keren naar het heden en stil te staan bij iemands eigen tempo van leven.
