Revox B-252 Preamplifier
The Revox B-252 was introduced in 1982, remained in production until 1990, and had an original retail price of $1,750.00. It was the dedicated preamplifier for the famous Revox 200 Series components, which are still highly regarded today. The B252 looks virtually identical to the B251 integrated amplifier; it is a direct spin-off of that unit without the amplifier section. This dedicated preamplifier gave consumers the freedom to choose any amplifier(s) they desired, and also contributed to the purity of the audio signal. The B252 was far ahead of its time in terms of manufacturing and served as the perfect example of new technology and proven circuits that had been properly integrated. The controls at the bottom of the front panel—including tone, balance, and the input source selectors—are treated as auxiliary and protected against accidental use by a transparent plastic pop-off cover. The “regular” control knobs, along the top edge of the panel, include a Standby/On switch, input selections,
