Beschrijving van de verkoper

Classic armchair / sabre-leg chair, also known as an English or European chair in Regency / Empire style (c. 1800–1830).

An iconic, ergonomic chair with ancient Greek influences characterized by four gracefully curved 'sabre legs' and a comfortable, curved backrest. The design, known for its elegance, simplicity, and smooth lines, was rediscovered in Neoclassicism and has since become a timeless piece of furniture.

Featuring curved, sabre-shaped rear legs (known as sabre legs). The continuous armrests that transition into the backrest with graceful curls.

A solid wood, dark polished finish (mahogany). The woven seat (later replaced). The turned front legs, typical of that period. The chair was often used as: a writing chair, desk chair, occasional chair in a drawing room, and sometimes as a library chair.

The wood joints feature hand-carved mortise and tenon joints, sometimes secured with wooden pegs instead of modern metal screws. An authentic "patina". The Empire style is made of solid mahogany.

The chair must be picked up or can be shipped by a specialized courier after consultation.
