Beschrijving van de verkoper
An exquisite late Victorian / early Edwardian Swiss-made silver pocket watch, retailed by the renowned British jeweler H. Samuel of Manchester. A stunning example of Art Nouveau craftsmanship in excellent working order.
The Dial & Aesthetics:
The true highlight of this timepiece is its magnificent, pristine white enamel (porcelain) dial. It features striking contrast blue Roman numerals swept over by a beautiful set of matching blue hands.
The face is framed by an incredibly intricate border of gold colored decorations depicting grapevines, fleurs-de-lys, ... . Notably, the cardinal points (12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock) feature distinct, noticeably thicker gold colored motifs, acting as an upscale visual anchor for rapid time-reading.
The Case & Hallmarks:
Both the outer case and the inner dust cover are made from high-grade 0.935 silver (a purity level intentionally higher than British Sterling to guarantee flawless customs passing at the time).
Features the official Swiss "Three Bears" export hallmark stamped three times across the housing and the dust cover.
Stamped with the Swiss case maker initials "A C".
Matching serial numbers on the case and dust cover: 20215.
The Movement:
A high-quality Swiss manually wound mechanism featuring a pin-set (nail-set) time configuration. To adjust the hands, the user gently depresses the small pin located on the case shoulder while rotating the crown.
