Large Scandinavian Art Glass Centrepiece Bowl – Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass – c. 1960–1970

Description

Elegant Scandinavian art glass centrepiece dating from approximately the 1960s–1970s.

The bowl features a striking sommerso colour combination with a deep cobalt blue centre gradually blending into a warm amber rim. The design is enhanced by numerous controlled air bubbles around the outer edge, creating beautiful optical effects when viewed from different angles.

Its wide, shallow form makes it ideal as a decorative centrepiece on a dining or coffee table. The heavy quality glass and refined craftsmanship are characteristic of Scandinavian studio glass from the Mid-Century Modern period.
