The Macallan Harmony Collection Smooth Arabica is a taste experience in its own right. This special single malt whisky is the second edition in The Macallan's exclusive and annual Harmony series, and is inspired by the birthplace of coffee – Ethiopia – and the famous Arabica bean.
Upon first encountering this whisky, you immediately notice its warm, toffee-caramel colour and deep aromas of ground coffee, roasted hazelnut, sweet raisins and an elegant vanilla character. It is almost reminiscent of an early morning coffee shop, wrapped in velvety malt.
It is a whisky that engages the senses. On the palate, notes of Americano coffee, bright cherries, soft spices and a subtle sweetness from walnuts and vanilla are revealed. The presence of the oak barrel provides depth and balance, without overpowering the aromatic coffee nuances.
Macallan's whisky maker Steven Bremner has delved deeply into the art of coffee, and the result is a whisky that, with its complexity and warm, narcotic elegance, unites the diversity of the coffee world with Macallan's distilling craft.
