Antieke eikenhouten kist met originele smeedijzeren beslag en sleutel, circa 1800
Massief met de hand vervaardigde eikenhouten kist uit de tijd rond 1800 (waarschijnlijk Noord-Duitsland of Nederland).
De kist heeft handgezaagde hoekverbindingen, een rijk versierde voorkant met een karakteristiek shingles- of visgraatpatroon en originele met de hand gesmede ijzeren beslag. Het originele kastslot is aanwezig, evenals de passende sleutel. Het slot werkt.
In het interieur bevindt zich het typische documentenvak.
Het oppervlak heeft een mooie, authentieke patina met ouderdomsgebonden gebruikssporen. Het deksel en het lijf zijn stabiel. Scheuren, slijtage en corrosiepatronen komen overeen met de hoge ouderdom en benadrukken de authenticiteit van het meubel.
Een decoratief en tegelijk historisch meubelstuk met veelzijdige gebruiksmogelijkheden, bijvoorbeeld als dekenkist, linnenkist of voorraadkist, of als een bijzondere salontafel.

Antique Oak Chest with Original Wrought Iron Hardware and Key, circa 1800
Large handcrafted solid oak chest dating from around 1800, probably of Northern German or Dutch origin.
The chest features hand-cut dovetail joints, beautifully hand-carved front panels with a traditional fish-scale pattern, original wrought iron handles, and the original lock with matching key. Inside is the characteristic document compartment found in period storage chests.
The surface retains a beautiful authentic patina acquired over more than two centuries. The chest is structurally sound. Age-related cracks, wear, oxidation of the iron fittings and other signs of use are consistent with its age and add to its authenticity and historical character.
A beautiful decorative and functional antique, suitable as a blanket chest, linen chest, storage chest or even as a distinctive coffee table.
