Short profile
Ik ben geboren in Suriname, Zuid-Amerika, en draag een rijke culturele erfenis in mij: Surinaams, Indonesisch, Afrikaans en Nederlands.
Ik ben opgegroeid in Nederland, omgeven door de erfenis van de oude Nederlandse meesters — in een land waar Vermeer en Rembrandt nooit ver van zicht zijn.
Een opdracht voor een parfumerie-merk bracht me ooit naar Venetië. Daar raakte ik diep onder de indruk van de barokke kunst, architectuur en de gelaagde geschiedenis van de stad. Die ervaring riep iets dieps in mij wakker en werd een blijvende bron van inspiratie die vandaag nog altijd mijn artistieke visie vormt.
Mijn creatieve proces is zorgvuldig vormgegeven en diep multidisciplinair. Ik bouw mijn sets met grote aandacht voor detail, en integreer mijn andere artistieke passies: houtskooltekenen, werken met goud, textiel en geavanceerde fotomanipulatie. Elk werk dat ik maak verenigt al deze elementen tot één samenhangende uitdrukking.

2026 – Gouden winnaar London Photography Awards – Categorie fine art photography / Conceptual category: work the book – blue
2016 – Px3, eerste prijs Prix de la photographie de Paris / Gouden prijs, in de categorie professionals fine art met mijn hedendaagse fresco’s. Px3 speciale tentoonstelling in Parijs van 12-15 juli

Mariska is a fine art photographer working internationally.
Her creative process is carefully constructed and highly multidisciplinary. She builds elaborate sets with great attention to detail and integrates her other artistic passions: charcoal drawing, working with gold, textiles, and advanced image editing. Every piece she creates brings all of these elements together into one cohesive expression.
In a short period of time she has won several renowned international awards the PX3 Prix de la Photographie de Paris, first place gold, in the full category of professional visual arts, Gold award Trierenberg Supercircuit - category emotions and nominated as ambassador of Tolerance.
She has participated in various photo exhibitions in New York, the Netherlands, China, Poland, France, Italy and has had several museum and gallery exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
