AMBER & DEEP BLUE BOHEMIAN CRYSTAL VASE & BASKET
Handmade Egermann Art Glass
This exceptional vase and basket set showcases the dramatic beauty of amber and deep blue Bohemian crystal, combining rich warm tones with a striking cobalt core. The interplay of colors, thick crystal walls, and fluid sculptural lines creates a powerful optical effect and unmistakable presence.
Both pieces were hand-formed directly from molten glass, shaped freely without molds. Every curve was created by the glassmaker’s hands, making each piece a unique work of hot-worked art glass rather than a mass-produced object. The result is glass with depth, movement, and character.
The set originates from the traditional production of the renowned Czech glassworks Egermann, based in Nový Bor, the historic center of Bohemian glassmaking. Egermann carried the legacy of Fridrich Egermann (1777–1864), one of the most influential figures in glass history and the inventor of the famous Egermann overlay (Lasur) technique that made Czech glass world-famous.
For generations, Egermann stood for artistic mastery, innovation, and prestige, with its glass admired and collected worldwide. Today, original Egermann hot-worked pieces of this quality are becoming increasingly rare as traditional production has come to an end.
