Richard Allan RA82L – Vintage British Labyrinth Loudspeakers

The Richard Allan RA82L is a distinctive and relatively rare British vintage loudspeaker from the 1970s, produced by Richard Allan Radio Ltd. of Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, England. The RA82L belongs to Richard Allan’s RA 8 series and is particularly notable for its labyrinth-type transmission-line enclosure, designed to provide extended and controlled low-frequency reproduction.

The RA82L combines a large Richard Allan HP8B bass/midrange driver with a DT20 dome tweeter, supported by Richard Allan’s CN35L/H crossover and filter system. The speaker also features adjustable midrange control, allowing the tonal balance to be adapted to the listening environment.

Its large floor-standing cabinet was available in attractive teak or walnut finishes, giving the RA82L the unmistakable appearance of classic British hi-fi equipment from the period.

To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
