Pair of French Art Deco Geometric Bookends - Polychrome Marble & Onyx - c. 1930

A stunning and highly collectible pair of authentic French Art Deco bookends dating from the 1920s–1930s.
This set perfectly embodies the geometric elegance and luxurious material choices of the interwar period.

Each bookend is constructed with a solid L-shaped base made of thick, heavily veined polychrome marble.
The stone showcases rich, warm tones of chocolate brown, caramel, cream, and white, with each piece displaying its own unique, unique natural veining pattern.

The sculptural geometric decoration features layered, concentric arches: a striking semi-circular block of dark, highly polished stone juxtaposed against a smaller arch of soft pinkish-cream onyx with delicate natural inclusions.

The structural integrity of both pieces is excellent, with clean, tight original joints and beautifully polished surfaces that highlight the depth of the natural stone.
