Beschrijving van de verkoper
Ettore Sottsass – I Protagonisti del Design – Hachette
An illustrated monograph dedicated to Ettore Sottsass (1917–2007), one of the most influential figures in Italian design and architecture of the 20th century.
Published as part of the I Protagonisti del Design series by Hachette, the book presents Sottsass’s career and creative development, with a selection of his projects and designs. It covers his wide-ranging contribution to furniture, industrial design, architecture and visual culture, including the experimental approach that made him a defining figure of Italian post-war design.
Sottsass is particularly associated with the radical design movements of the 1960s and 1970s and with the Memphis group, founded in Milan in 1981. His work challenged conventional ideas about function, colour, form and decoration and became highly influential in postmodern design.
The book is written by Paola Proverbio, with the series curated by Vando Pagliardini. The volume was published by Hachette in Milan in 2013.
