AI-gegenereerde samenvatting

Beschrijving van de verkoper

Large and exceptionally characterful solid wood low table with two deep drawers, attributed to the late 17th or early 18th century, circa 1680–1720.

An impressive piece of early European rustic furniture, constructed from heavy solid timber and displaying numerous characteristics associated with traditional hand craftsmanship.

The table measures approximately 190 × 70 × 50 cm and has an unusually substantial construction. The top is composed of wide solid wooden planks and displays pronounced grain, old cracks, irregularities, marks and extensive wear accumulated over a long period of use.

The front contains two large and exceptionally deep drawers, each fitted with a framed front and turned wooden knob. The drawers and structural elements show irregularities and visible traces of hand workmanship.

The substantial square legs, heavy frame, wide boards and simple functional construction are characteristic of early European vernacular and farmhouse furniture.

Particularly attractive is the surface of the table. It retains a rich dark-brown patina with numerous scratches, dents, old marks, cracks and colour variations. These have intentionally not been restored away and form an important part of the historical character of the piece.
