Two curved arms sweep up from a sculpted base to hold a pair of candles, framing a playful cherub perched on a bed of modelled flowers. A second putto rests at the foot of the stem, surrounded by delicate applied roses in soft pink, blue and yellow. Cream porcelain is finished with gilded scrollwork and a lustrous gold rim.
Dreamy, romantic and full of old-world Italian craftsmanship. It brings a soft Rococo glow to a dining table, mantel or console, whether lit with candles or displayed as a sculptural piece on its own.
Marked underneath in gold: "Capodimonte 55C Italy". Probably 1950s-1960s.
Condition: good vintage condition with light signs of age, in keeping with its years. Some gilding wear on the base rim and candle cups, and a small dark discoloration below the top putto. Please see the photos, which form part of the description.
Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
