LIMITED EDITION OF 20 COPIES — NUMBERED AND SIGNED BY THE ARTIST
Original art photography by Agathe Toman, realized in the French Alps during the winter of 2023.
This work is part of the ARTIST’S SHARED COLLECTION: a selection of photographs offered in limited editions, enabling her work to enter new collections.
Fine Art print on glossy photographic paper, printed in France.
The deliberately present grain in the image is an essential feature of Agathe Toman’s photographic work. Far from a quest for perfect sharpness, the artist uses the grain as a material: it densifies the image, unsettles its temporality and brings photography closer to her painterly work.
The work is:
— edited in only 20 copies
— numbered at the bottom left
— signed at the bottom right
— signed, numbered and dated on the back
— accompanied by an authenticity certificate completed and signed by the artist
Print made in Biarritz, France.
The photograph is sold unframed and will be carefully shipped rolled to guarantee its protection during transport.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY
In her photographic work, Agathe Toman mainly photographs forests, mountains, the sea and natural phenomena.
Her images do not seek to document a landscape. They seek what appears when it ceases to be merely a place.
Grain, deep blacks, erasures, light leaks and loss of definition progressively tilt reality toward abstraction.
This approach directly aligns with her painterly practice: to cover, erase, accumulate, remove, reveal.
“I do not invent images, I make them appear.”
Her work is built around what precedes understanding in experience. An inner necessity becomes a form.
Photography thus becomes less a representation of a landscape than the trace of an experience: something between the visible and what escapes it.
