Keith Haring (1958-1990) was an American artist and social activist known for his evocative illustrations. A prominent figure of 1980s New York graffiti culture, his work could be found in every subway station in the city. Haring was able to reach a wide audience through his humorous, accessible imagery and saturated colours.
