Kodak Startech flash - boxed. Viewfinder camera

The outfit included two close-up accessory lenses and a bulb flash holder with transparent shield (to protect in case of an exploding bulb). The camera has two aperture settings, which are f/27 (coloured green) and f/64 (red), giving useful depth of field. Given the small apertures, indoor photographs require flash.

The two aperture settings give two close-up focus settings; 4-8 inches and 10-16 inches. It is necessary to set the aperture lever on the camera and fit the corresponding close-up lens; the close setting uses a +7 close-up lens with red rim; the further setting uses a +3 with green rim.

It is also possible to use the camera outdoors in good light. The instructions recommend using the f/27 setting without a close-up lens; focus is then 4 feet to infinity.

The camera makes 4x4cm images on type No. 127 film rolls. The flash uses M-2 bulbs, and two 1.5V AA batteries.
