An engraved Yao (瑶族) bone Comb Headdress
Southern China, Late 19th - Early 20th century
This Southern Chinese comb exhibits eighteen bone pieces which are etched / engraved on both sides with an intricate circle within circle design, tied together on a wooden frame with a red ball attached to the top and trailing tassels with white and black glass beads with purple-red fringes on a diamond shaped etched bone pendant.
Height = 40 cm
Length bone parts = 14 cm
Width = 10 cm
Weight = 115 g
In good condition. Normal traces of age and use.
