Epoka brązu Brązowy Socketed Spearhead (Bez ceny minimalnej )

A fine Bronze Age cast bronze spearhead, featuring a leaf-shaped blade with upward sloping shoulders. The blade displays a prominent central mid-rib that leads down to the spearhead's cylindrical socket, which widens at the bottom. A wood shaft would have been inserted into the socket. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as tarnishing, minor chips to the edges of the blade. The base of the socket is significantly chipped. In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Archaeological evidence suggests that the bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts. Measurements: L 20.5cm x W 4cm Provenance: Ex. London Collection, formed between 1990 - present. N.B. Delivery may be longer due to the busier period and we do not guarantee delivery before Christmas. Items paid for after the 19th December will be shipped after the New Year (week commencing on the 5th January 2026). **There will be an additional fee incurred for returned shipments due to buyer’s non-response to customs enquiries and/or unsuccessful delivery attempts.**
