Description
Beautiful and collectible Omega silver pocket watch, dating from the early 1900s. The watch features the famous “Grand Prix Paris 1900” engraving on the inner dust cover, commemorating Omega’s award at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
The watch is housed in a finely engraved 0.900 silver hunter case, richly decorated with scrollwork. The outer back cover features an ornamental scene of a horse-drawn sulky (trotter racing scene) in contrasting metal, giving the watch strong Art Nouveau character.
The white enamel dial is in good vintage have some smull damage, with black Arabic numerals for hours and an orange 13–24 inner scale, signed OMEGA below 12 o’clock. It has elegant ornate gilt hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
Inside, the Omega mechanical movement is well finished, gilt plated, and signed. The balance cock is engraved and marked F–A / R–S for regulation. Serial number visible on the movement: 509923 (and case number 3979560).
