Distilled in 1950 at The Macallan Distillery in Speyside, this single malt Scotch whisky was bottled in 2006 by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Speymalt series.
The whisky matured for approximately 55–56 years in a sherry cask before being bottled at 43% ABV in a 700 ml bottle.
Long maturation in sherry wood contributed to a flavour profile associated with dried fruits such as figs, plums and sultanas, along with oak and light smoky notes.
