Panela (2) - Cobre, ferro, estanho - Panela e jarro de cobre, século XIX.

Antique Copper Cooking Set – Cauldron & Jug – 19th Century ______________________________________________________________________________________ This authentic set of two antique copper vessels is a fine example of traditional European craftsmanship from the 19th century. The lot consists of a hand-hammered copper cauldron with forged iron swing handle and a matching copper jug/pitcher. Both pieces show classic construction techniques, including riveted joints, hand-shaped forms, and visible hammer marks, characteristic of pre-industrial or early industrial production. The interiors display remnants of tin lining, traditionally applied to protect food from direct contact with copper. The surfaces feature a rich, naturally developed patina with oxidation, wear, and age-related traces, giving both objects strong decorative appeal and historical authenticity. Such vessels were widely used in rural households for cooking over open fire, heating liquids, or general domestic purposes. Dimensions: Cauldron: (K117-2) Height: 16 cm Width: 17 cm Depth: 16 cm Weight: 804 g Jug / Pitcher: (K117-3) Height: 14 cm Width: 13 cm Depth: 13 cm Weight: 566 g Provenance: Private collection, Freiburg.
