Relógio de lareira - Mármore, Madeira - 1850-1900

Victorian black marble/slate pendulum clock (mantel clock). The factory serial number: "3 6 2" (at the top) This clock was produced in France during the late 19th century, around the period 1880–1900. [1, 2, 3] Material: The robust, architectural case is crafted from full wood - black marble – ardoise and cement inside - heavy - 15.8 Kg Decoration: The front features finely engraved geometric and floral motifs inlaid with gold-plated accents. The clock has a white enamelled dial with Roman numerals. A unique feature of this piece is the visible escapement (Brocot lever escapement) in the center of the dial serial number and the letter sequence "372 G" on the pendulum (the 'long strand') very important about the authenticity and provenance of the clock. On original 19th-century French pendulum clock, the serial number was manually stamped at the factory. The number 49 at the bottom of the movement's backplate is a typical French measurement system that indicates the exact pendulum length. The pendulum has a length of approximately 12.8 centimeters from the suspension point The separate combinations 3 6 and 2 6 are the traditional French measurement markings for pendulum adjustment. At the top "3 6": 3 pouces (French inches) and 6 lignes (lines). At the bottom "2 6" Together with the number 49 (located on the outside of the base plate), these internal numbers confirm that the gear train is a 100% authentic, classic French 8-day movement of the Pendule de Paris type. Damage's - there 2 damages 1 - on the clock at the 2 and on the left side a crack in the wood ( not lose/broken )
