William Neale, Chester - 1901 - Bule - edwardiano - .925 prata

Exceptional Edwardian Sterling Silver Teapot by William Neale & Sons, Chester 1901 A fine and substantial Edwardian sterling silver teapot hallmarked for William Neale & Sons, Chester Assay Office, 1901. This elegant piece exemplifies high-quality British silver craftsmanship from the turn of the 20th century. Key Features: Maker & Hallmarks: Clearly struck with the maker’s mark (W.N for William Neale & Sons), Chester hallmarks (three wheatsheaves in shield), lion passant (sterling silver), and the 1901 date letter. Fully hallmarked on the body and lid. Design & Decoration: Classic Regency/Georgian Revival style with bold vertical fluting (gadrooning) to the body and spout. The teapot features a square canted form with a beautifully detailed square lid topped by a cast sunflower or chrysanthemum finial. Rich applied bead and reel borders, ornate scrollwork, and a shaped spout enhance its visual appeal. Fitted with a black ebony handle and finial for comfortable use and period authenticity. Dimensions: Height 11 cm, Length (spout to handle) 33 cm, Width approx. 10 cm. Weight: 311 g (solid sterling silver, excluding handle where applicable). Condition: Excellent antique condition with a lovely soft patina. Minor surface wear consistent with age and gentle use; no dents, splits, or repairs. The lid fits well, and the piece remains structurally sound and functional. This teapot would pair beautifully with matching sugar bowl and cream jug (common in William Neale sets of this era) or stand impressively on its own as a statement piece. Ideal for collectors of Edwardian silver, Regency Revival designs, or those seeking high-quality, hallmarked British teaware from the prestigious Chester assay office.
