Incredible historical relic. Special silver commemorative plate, for supporting the successful Normandy landings. As a silver object: made of 813 / 1000 fineness silver, circa 1850, CD master mark. Oval shape on four legs made of vines, with handles decorated with grape leaves and stems. Decorated with pearl decoration on the edge, the inner surface is decorated with wavy engraving. A real grape offering plate, the perfect companion for the harvest. It also holds its place as silver, but it is a real curiosity in the military field. Peggy Margot: A commander, paratrooper and spy serving under the command of the Free French Forces. She made a total of 22 live parachute jumps into occupied France to collect secret documents, money and information for the Allies. Before the landings, she cycled the Normandy coastline, collecting data on German troop movements.
