This is an exciting action filled page from The Phantom strip originally published in the 1971 Pow! Annual. Here Jim stumbles across the crooks and is spotted... they chase him and he smashes through a window plunging into a batch of chemicals and electronic equipment... it soon becomes apparent that this has given him powers and he becomes... The Phantom! Unfortunately, when the police arrive, they mistake him for the evil brigand 'The Bat' Segrelles worked on many series including his most well known 'Los Imbatidos' (1963). He also drew episodes of other series, like 'Aquiles', 'La Cuadrilla' and 'Johnny Pacífico'. The artwork has been inked and coloured onto the Bristol board. There are some very feint pencil words in the margin written in Spanish- these may be notes from the artist or publisher.
