Epoca Vikingilor Bronz Pandantiv 'Raven Wings', simbolizând păsările mitice ale lui Odin. (Fără preț de rezervă)
A large bronze pendant featuring a T-shaped upper section with side projections and a circular lower terminal, both decorated with concentric ring-and-dot motifs. The object has a top suspension hole through which a cord or thong could be passed (here shown with a modern black cord for display).
The ring-and-dot design is a long-lived symbolic pattern in Northern Europe, associated with solar iconography, protection, and cyclical renewal. The combination of circular discs and cross-like top is strongly reminiscent of sun wheel amulets worn during the Late Iron Age and Viking Age. These objects are typically interpreted as protective talismans, invoking the power of the sun as a life-giving and guiding force.
The large lower disc may represent the solar disc, while the upper projections could symbolize cardinal directions or the solar cross. The style parallels Scandinavian ritual pendants and Bronze/Iron Age symbolic objects where concentric circles served as metaphors for cosmic order, fertility, and divine cycles.
The piece shows a rough-cast texture with weathered but readable ornamentation, suggesting long burial or antiquity-style patination.
Size: 5.5cm
Symbolism:
Sun Wheel / Solar Cross: Symbol of cosmic order, navigation, and protection.
Concentric Circles: Often linked to the sun, divine presence, and cyclical time.
Ring-and-Dot Motif: Common protective and magical emblem throughout Northern European pre-Christian culture.
Such amulets were believed to offer good fortune, protection during travel, and alignment with the sun’s life-giving force, important to seafaring and agrarian communities.
