Alessi ‘’KU’’ set of 8 dinner plates and 8 (Soup) Bowls made out of white porcelain. The set was originally designed in 2006 by Japanese Master Toyo Ito. Given the fluid shapes of the delicate "KU" porcelain service, new lifestyles and living styles are reflected in the design of the “KU” service. Given the size of the large Soup bowls they can be used as both a Soup bowl and a regular bowl. Perfect for both domestic and professional use, ''KU'' feature a purely classical design with a contemporary twist as is also reflected in the architectural projects of Toyo Ito. The white porcelain gives great character to each individual plate or bowl, as well as ensuring extreme strength and durability Dimensions: Dining plate: ø cm 27 / ø10¾” Soup bowl: ø cm 23 - cl 32 / ø 9” - 11¼ oz Dishwasher safe This ‘’KU’’ service is in a new and unused condition. Delivered in their original package that protects the service well. Toyo Ito Toyo Ito was born in 1941. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1965. In 1971, he founded his own office Urban Robot (URBOT), which was renamed Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects in 1979. He is the recipient of many awards, including Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale (concept of new housing after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami) , Royal Gold Medal from The Royal Institute of British Architects and The Pritzker Architecture Prize. Among his best-known buildings are Sendai Mediatheque; Tama Art University Library; Torres Porta Fira (Spain); Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture, Imabari; National Taiwan University, College of Social Sciences (Taiwan R.O.C.); National Taichung Theater (Taiwan R.O.C.).
