Skrivbordsklocka - Seiko Space Age - ABS - 1960-1970 - Dashboard Minicon 1969

Seiko MCJ-501 – Automobile Clock, Minicon Transistor (1969, Japan) Seiko automobile clock model MCJ-501, produced in Japan circa 1969, belonging to the last generation of pre-quartz automotive clocks manufactured by Seiko. This model is documented in original Seiko Japan catalogs as a November new release within the Seiko Clock automotive line, designed specifically for in-car use. The MCJ-501 was engineered to withstand vibrations, temperature variations, and continuous operation, making it a reliable and high-quality accessory for vintage automobiles. Movement – Seiko “Minicon” Transistor The term “Minicon” stands for Miniature Control Circuit and identifies Seiko’s early compact electronic control systems developed in the late 1960s. This clock is equipped with an electronic transistorized movement with a mechanical balance wheel. The balance wheel is not driven by a mainspring but is kept in oscillation by electrical impulses generated by a transistor circuit, powered by a 1.5 V battery. Video available at the following link https://youtube.com/shorts/2eAUXHMogcs The transistor replaces the traditional mechanical escapement, improving stability and reducing sensitivity to vibrations — an essential feature for automotive applications. Technology: Pre-quartz electronic transistor movement Power supply: 1.5 V battery Declared accuracy: ±1 minute per 24 hours Designed specifically for automotive use The clock has been tested and keeps time very well, with stable and regular operation. Dimensions Width: approx. 86 mm Height: approx. 40 mm Depth: approx. 31 mm (Dimensions refer to the clock body only, excluding the mounting base) Additional details Type: Automobile / dashboard clock Production: Japan Color: Red Time setting via side crown Compact, highly legible dial Important notes The Seiko catalogs shown for reference are NOT included in the sale and are used solely for documentation purposes.
