Aleksandr Vladislavovich Skovronsky, Moscow 1883-1908 - Kiddush-kopp - .875 (84 Zolotniki) silver - 1895 år, Kiddush Cup

This is a genuine Imperial Russian silver Kiddush cup (ceremonial goblet for blessing wine on Shabbat and holidays), dating to 1895 and assayed in Moscow. Material & Purity: .875 silver (84 zolotniki standard). Hallmarks: Pre-1899 system – "84" purity with Moscow city mark (St. George slaying the dragon), assayer's mark А.С (Aleksandr Vladislavovich Skovronsky, active 1895–1898), and worn year stamp "1895" (leading "1" effaced). Design: Elegant stemmed goblet on a round footed base, with richly chased/engraved body featuring raised floral and foliate motifs in lobed panels. The textured, stippled background and swirling leaves give it a classic late-19th-century Russian aesthetic – no niello (black inlay) apparent, but fine hand-chased decoration. Historical Context: Made during the reign of Nicholas II, in a period when similar forms were produced both as secular vodka cups (charka) and for Jewish ritual use (Kiddush). The shape and neutral ornate decoration are typical of Russian Judaica silver from Moscow workshops. It's a beautiful, collectible piece of late Tsarist-era Judaica in excellent preserved condition. Height 14.5cm Weight 11g
