Exquisite Chinese celadon nephrite jade sculpture 2 Pixiu – China – 20th Century
 
On offer is a large exquisite celadon nephrite jade sculpture of an older and young Pixiu. Good quality celadon nephrite jade group, with nice details, such as the teeth and hair and the sculptured back of the mother pixiu. This sculpture has a glossy greasy appearance! The main color is natural homogeneous green-grey.
 
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This large jade group comes from inland China. a Valuable and rare jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! “Pi Xiu (Chinese: 貔貅; pinyin: píxiū) or Pi Yao, is a Chinese mythical auspicious hybrid creature with fat body and unicorn claws; the animal’s bold body resembles a lion. Pi Xiu has the meaning of bringing in wealth and treasure. It can ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. Some people even believe that it can guard their homes and bring them good luck in love relationship. According to the Chinese Zodiac, Pi Xiu is especially helpful for those who are going through a bad year. In addition, statues of this creature are often used to attract wealth; in Feng Shui.”
