Greek religious icon with Mother of God Hodegetria. Handmade. Oclad type (unknown exact metal, probably galvanized iron as responds positively to magnet), with floral decor on top of a wooden frame. This is a very rare icon with unique characteristics. It is not an oil painted icon, there is clearly an old lithography. It is very different than other similar oclad icons, the metal is placed in strips on top of a printout. Ca. 1930 or older, such icons were produced in Greece during 1920's-1930's. Dimensions 23X18X3 cm Good condition, obvious signs of age and heavy use behind the Greek ''kantili-candle pot/sticks''. Please study the pictures. Registered post, strong custom made packing.
