Sexy Ceramics - Kiss Ceramic + goldlieaf 12 x 9 x 8 cm Minimalist sculpture - unique piece Concept: Would you believe that design can be the object of our sensations, emotions, thoughts and fantasies? To what extent design is subjective? I mean, a design formed by hand with an intended use… Design here purports to be the subject of this story: innocent lines and planes can in fact call on our senses to induce us to the aesthetic and mysterious erotism within this humanoid mass which shows itself as an abstract object. Sexy ceramics plays both on the abstract and figurative grounds, teasing with the audience. Our senses are having a battle to avoid being deceived. Ceramic stoneware, ceramic glaze and goldleaf About the artist: María Eugenia Piacentini (Buenos Aires, 1981). Sculptor since childhood, she refined her path in Madrid through applied arts and film SFX. International finalist (CERCO, Beautiful Bizarre), she works with stoneware and porcelain, living through Jungian intuition and personal synchronicities to translate mysticism into bold forms with the spontaneity of the piece itself. Through an irreverent lens, her human,animal and paradoxical imagery disrupts the viewer’s “deep sleep.” It is a raw pursuit of energy where ancient symbolism and humor meet a modern narrative to expose our shared subconscious. She has exhibited individually and collectively in Mallorca, Madrid, Teruel, Valladolid, Zaragoza, Ourense, Rome, Miami, Paris, Zurich, Singapore, Coburg, and Munich, earning four finalist recognitions for ceramic work in Spain and Australia (CERCO and Beatiful Bizarre Art Magazine). Piacentini: “Art awakens us from a deep sleep, thrusting us free and aware into a world that often seems otherwise.” Influenced by Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, and surrealism, she uses ceramics for its spontaneity, letting the work flow naturally, perhaps chasing or confessing existential doubts.
