Important Pair of Chinese Armorial Export Plates - Monogrammed - c. 1790 A fine pair of 18th-century export porcelain armorial plates. Central monogrammed shield under a blue draped mantle with gilt tassels. Decorated with neoclassical "blue husks" border and sawtooth gilt rim. High-quality porcelain from the Qianlong/Jiaqing transition. Both plates are in overall good condition. The worn gilding is visible in the photos. One of the plates has three small chips on the rim and a faint hairline crack along the edge. The other plate is in very good condition. The dating and attribution are based on stylistic analysis and comparison with analogous objects and should be regarded as a collector’s opinion. The exact dating and intended use of the set are left to the expert’s assessment.
