This remarkable fine pendant has a beautiful and intricately carved image of Guanyin seated on a throne and with a large lotus leaf right next to her. This rare older jadeite jade pendant is mounted in 18K marked 750/1000 fine gold, surrounding the whole pendant. It is marked at the bail (see photo). Estimated gold weight: 2 gram. Hard to find ! Provenance: from the estate of a deceased former collector of small jades in the Netherlands. The carved stone, set in 18K gold, has been identified as jadeite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color.
