Tallrik - Porslin - Stor Ge-typ Ming-fat
A monumental and heavily potted 'Swatow' (Zhangzhou) dish of shallow circular form. The interior and exterior are covered in a thick, lustrous ivory-white glaze, intricately suffused with a dense network of fine, dark "iron-wire" crackle in imitation of the classic Ge-type ware. The dish is potted from a characteristic dark purplish-black clay, visible at the unglazed, gritty foot rim, a hallmark of Zhangzhou kilns. The base features an iron-red or brownish wash. Ming Dynasty (16th–17th Century).
Measurements: D: 36.6 x H: 8.5
Weight: 2,028 grams.
Condition: In good restored condition, consistent with age and size.
The "Ge-style" crackle glaze was a popular aesthetic choice for Zhangzhou potters during the late Ming period, catering to both domestic tastes and the lucrative Southeast Asian export market.
Registered and insured shipping with track and trace.
