The interior and tray display beautiful Nashiji (“pear-skin lacquer”), a traditional technique in which fine gold flakes are dispersed within the lacquer to create a deep, softly shimmering surface. The exterior lid features dynamic wave-like patterns executed in gold and silver Maki-e, creating a striking contrast with the natural wood grain finish of the upper surface.
