This is a compact German-made manual focus lens with preset aperture construction and classic aluminium barrel. The lens has an M42 screw mount and is suitable for vintage camera collectors or for use on modern digital cameras with the correct adapter. The aperture ring and focus ring work smoothly. The lens shows visible cosmetic signs of age and use, including small scratches and wear on the aluminium housing, but it presents well and has a beautiful period look. Glass appears usable from visual inspection, with normal age-related marks/dust possible for a lens of this age. A nice collectible Steinheil wide-angle lens, especially interesting because of the silver finish and early mechanical build quality.
