Matured initially in refill butts and hogsheads from 2009, the whisky is then finished for nearly two years in rare Moscatel de Málaga casks, inspired by a historic 1899 reference. This sweet Andalusian fortified wine influence brings an additional layer of richness and fruitiness, beautifully complementing Lagavulin’s signature peat smoke.
