21.00cts Multi color Sterling Opal Oval Triplet Cab

The opal is said to be "Mother Nature's fireworks" and Sterling Opal produces cultured opal with the same exciting play of color, light and flash as found in natural opal. ... Lab grown cultured opal has never looked better! Sterling Opal creates opal from Mother Nature's ingredients with a result to rival natural opal.

The potch lines are black and are random like a natural opal, and some patterns are like snake or honeycomb pattern that is in Ethiopian opal. The moulds are 40 mm in size for the mixture to grow in. Nano silica in micro spheres in silica are grown and no dyes are used to make these opals. This makes the opals similar but different just like natural opal with veins and patterns and different light reflection patterns. Sterling Opal - A New Man Made Synthetic Opal

Note that:
The photos are taken in cold light, I don't use any filters, but sometimes they can vary a bit from seeing them in reality.
And also take into account the measurements and weight when it comes to small stones, the photos are enlarged to see them better and in all details.

Please read:
The opal triplet gets its name from the fact that there are three components that make it up: a thin piece of a crystal opal that is sandwiched between a top layer of something transparent and a backing that is black. Typically, this top layer is created from plastic, glass, or quartz, while the black backing is typically made from artificial resin or black potch. Opaline triplets are cut with a very thin type of blade. They use a cutting machine that has a metal block that is about 4 inches long and has about 100 cutting wires which are extremely thin wires.

Black backing is used in this setup because it does a great job of enhancing the color of the opal layer, which makes the piece truly great. The clear top layer is added on top as a way to protect the piece, making it more durable for a person wearing it. Because of these components working together to make the opal triplet, this is a perfect stone option for rings.
