This chess set is a contemporary artistic creation, designed and realized by Dominique Kleiner, Norman artist, whose work is part of a constant exploration of the object, sculpture and functional design.

The artist revisits the chessboard here as a territory of plastic expression, where each piece becomes a sculpture in its own right. The spiraled and perforated shapes of the pieces have been conceived to create a sense of movement, rhythm and balance, while preserving perfect legibility of the game.

Each type of piece — king, queen, bishop, knight, rook and pawn — has its own identity, while blending into a global harmony. The game thus offers a visual reading that is fluid, elegant and contemporary, as much for the eye as for use.
