Islamisk Brons Ring - 10:e–13:e århundradet e.Kr. (Utan reservationspris)

Islamic Bronze Signet Ring with Stylized Calligraphic Motif – Islamic Culture – 10th to 13th Century AD A substantial bronze signet ring featuring a large navette-shaped bezel decorated with a raised linear motif inspired by early Islamic calligraphic ornament. The composition is framed within a double border and consists of flowing, angular lines characteristic of the abstract epigraphic designs widely employed throughout the medieval Islamic world. Such motifs often derive from Kufic script, where letters gradually evolved into decorative symbols that retained both aesthetic and symbolic significance. The ring is cast in a robust form with a broad hoop supporting an unusually large bezel, suggesting ownership by an individual of status. The surface displays an attractive archaeological patina with traces of green mineralization, while the raised decoration remains clearly visible despite centuries of wear. Rings of this type were commonly worn across the Near East, Persia, and Central Asia as personal ornaments and seal rings during the medieval Islamic period. Material: Bronze Dimensions: 2.5 × 2.3 cm Weight: 12.18 g Provenance: Acquired in Germany. Former German private collection assembled during the 1990s. All items come with CoA.
