Chinese Cloisonné Enamel Vase with Parrots and Flowers, Early 20th Century
A finely crafted Chinese cloisonné enamel vase dating from the early 20th century.
The elegant baluster-shaped body is decorated with colourful parrots perched amongst blooming flowers and foliage, executed in vibrant shades of red, yellow, green and white enamel. The white ground is densely filled with stylised cloud motifs formed by delicate brass wire cloisons, creating a striking contrast with the colourful decoration.
The neck, shoulder and foot are further embellished with decorative scrolling borders, while the rim and foot retain their original gilt-bronze mounts. The workmanship displays the detailed wirework and bright enamelling characteristic of high-quality Chinese cloisonné production from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period.
The base bears a maker’s mark.
Height: 20.5 cm
Weight: 384 g
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
A beautiful example of traditional Chinese cloisonné craftsmanship and an attractive decorative piece for collectors of Asian art.
