The elegant vase is decorated with flowering plum blossom and magnolia branches against a rich green enamel ground filled with intricate scrolling cloud motifs formed by delicate brass wire cloisons. A flying bird is depicted among the blossoms, symbolising the arrival of spring and prosperity. The vase retains its original gilt-bronze rim and foot mount. The soft pink and white magnolia blossoms contrast beautifully with the deep green background, while the detailed wirework demonstrates the high level of craftsmanship associated with early twentieth-century Beijing cloisonné production.
