Breviarium Romanum – Pars Aestiva – Officina Plantiniana, Balthasaris Moreti – Antwerpen, 1674 A beautiful and authentic 17th-century Breviarium Romanum, printed by the famous Officina Plantiniana of Balthasar Moretus in Antwerp in 1674. This edition was published according to the decrees of the Council of Trent and the revisions of Popes Pius V, Clement VIII and Urban VIII. It is an excellent example of the renowned craftsmanship of the Plantin Press. The volume is bound in its contemporary full calf binding with richly gilt spine and red title label. The binding shows honest signs of age and use. The front hinge has been neatly repaired and remains structurally sound. The book is illustrated with several impressive full-page engraved plates, including religious scenes of exceptional quality. The text is printed in black and red throughout, a characteristic feature of high-quality liturgical printing from the period.
